It was made with dark purple velvet pieces that were fastened on and folded back to reveal colorful flashes of the purple silk underdress. The outer sleeves were made of cerlin.

I attached the strands to the back of the collar and made sure to shape it as if it were already around my neck, so it could dry in the proper shape. After it fully dried, I attached black velcro to the back of the collar. It held up with no problems through transportation to and from the convention and at least five hours of being worn. The Senate Gown includes a floor-length iridescent orange silk gown, mostly covered by a full robe with embroidered edges.
Amidala and her entourage had decided to dress her as formally as possible as they wanted to present nothing of the young girl that the holos had been fixated on. The stiff overdress was made of purple brocade with hand-embroidered violets along the hem and cuffs. The tunic worn underneath was also violet and had a collar that made it impossible for Amidala to turn her head. Amidala had her hair braided in four sections with two hanging down her back wrapped in purple ribbon and the other two pinned up on the sides of her head supporting a beaten copper headband. This moss-green velvet ensemble is absolutely gorgeous, and the way it catches the light and shimmers from different shades of green to gold is stunning. The addition of a purple sash is also a great splash of color that doesn't distract or overshadow the overall look and compliments the green hues nicely.

They do fantastic and speedy custom work. Also - she makes Slave Leia and Wonder Woman costumes, so geeky is right up her alley. Padme's dinner gown from Attack of the Clonesis very symbolic. I think during this meal she crosses a line that she is unable to turn back from. That's all lovely, but I have to admit that to me this is mostly just a gorgeous costume that I wanted to recreate.
